1/3 cup flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp paprika
3 lbs chicken cut into peices
1/4 c. oleo
1 c. thick sliced celery
1 1/2 cup thick sliced carrots
3 cups water
2 onions cut into eighths

Combine flour, salt, & paprika.  Dredge chicken in mixture and brown well in oleo.  Sprinkle any remaining flour over chicken.

Add water, remaining salt (?), and vegetables.  Cover and simmer until chicken in tender- about 1 hour. 

Then put dumplings on top to finish.
